My coffee village recently added fresh road paint, with arrows (?), median signs, new poles with signaling buttons and flashing lights on a pair of centrally located crosswalks.

Only a new visitor would allow themselves to be seen crossing at these things!

This village is renowned for a lot of things - but jay-walking without regard to traffic flow is one of its best known examples of lawlessness - and helps single out veterans from the nubes.
The speed limit is 25mph thru town on this very busy stretch of rural N/S highway - and if you don't give way in your vehicle....you might collect 4 or 5 pedestrians after a few blocks. More on a warm sunny day!

NUBE is a slang word used to refer to a person who is inexperienced, new. (AKA - FNG's during the games in S.E. Asia)
