With all the Kung-flu will just stay home. The Pfizer plant is supposed to have a vaccine that's 95% effective. It's supposed to have emergency approval in just a few days. We're having a huge number of cases in Kansas right now, 10th in the nation. We were spared the first go around but not so the second wave.
Neighbor works at the huge Pfizer plant. He's been working from home for a few weeks.

No traveling. ...and Mom stays locked down in her nearby assisted living facility.
She sold her small condo and moved from Florida's Gulf of Mexico to see more of her family ...I brought her here just in time for Covid to hit.
Your neighbors address please...I'd like to send him a dozen Tim Hortons in thanks.

I feel your concern KK, where I live (small Cheshire village, pop c1,000), the first wave of Covid-19 passed us by with no cases recorded any closer that 5 miles away. This time around there are near double figures that I know of and a couple are seriously ill in ITU. The larger area here is 5-600 cases per 100,000; but that means pro rata our village is close to twice that, not a good figure!
On balance, I'm with you, discretion is the better course!

I'm not really going anywhere at the moment, but we have a national lockdown in the UK and there's no November holidays.
Two sets of neighbours have had the 'roro now. Mentally it's a lot harder at this time of year than it was in the spring.

no traveling, thank goodness, but are still tentatively planning on having my 87 year old mother join us for Thanksgiving. She lives 25 miles away so the visit would just be for the afternoon. I'm really starting to 2nd guess our invitation to her...I would hate to be responsible for getting her sick.
I live in the state of Iowa, where we have the 3rd highest Covid positivity rate in the country at 41%...meaning 41% of all people getting tested for covid are coming back positive. Frightening.
Hope everyone else is keeping travel and human exposures to a minimum!

Yeah, but how MANY of that 41% actually show symptoms? Actually sick? The guvner of Pennsylvania has actually mandated masks inside the home! You can imagine my reaction if the governor here in Tennessee comes up with a similar edict!

You got to be kidding (inside the home) talking about government overreach. Did you see Tesla's Elon Musk, he had four covid test in one day. Two came back positive and two came back negative. Don't give you much confidence in the testing procedure.

Yes, older folks are in the danger zone like de dee, John Grinsel and me IF we catch it. Got a guy here that is 83 that caught the corona, went to the hospital for a week and recovered. But he's a tough, old farmer who spends a lot of time outside. I feel for ya, Randyo. Too long.
