Title: Lady at tag dept had a scooter
Post by: Kansas kymco on November 13, 2020, 10:20:21 AM
When I was registering my 500R at the tag office the lady  told me she had a Schwinn scooter.  She had purchased it with very low miles from a person who bought it new. The person that bought it had a minor accident that scared them and they sold it.

Had a small dealer that had a repair shop and sold the Schwinn Scooters. The guy came down with incurable cancer shortly after opening the business.  He had made a trip to Alaska and back on a KLR just a few years before.  He was a very interesting person to have a conversation with.

my 10 year old daughter, who is in full time online school for now, said her teacher for this year mentioned he also has a scooter! He's not someone I pictured on a scooter..but apparently he loves it.

So I guess you never know who might be a scooterist!

I do smile when I go downtown Iowa City (I'm in a town next door) and see scooters everywhere. It's a Big 10 college town so scooters are a popular form of transportation. Too bad so many of the kids sell their scoots upon graduating and leaving town.

I've noticed that phenomenon around here as well. As soon as college is done you see some scooters for sale, most are the 50cc that doesn't require a license.

yep, same here. Most are 50cc. Free parking for scoots on campus and downtown so it's a very cheap form of transportation.
