No one actually lives there. Actors are bussed in daily - bit like the Trueman Show.
He takes the shiny scooter in the back of a van to a model 'murican village, takes a few photos, then takes it home again.
That's my theory anyway.

Perhaps you'll remember that David Letterman was in my coffee village this past July. I thought he was here to be a guest for one of Dave Chappelle's lawn 'concerts'. But I learned that Letterman was actually in town to shoot a new show for his Netflix program, "My next guest needs no introduction."
Since both Letterman and Chappelle are pretty controversial performers - many will take issue with much of their discussion. But maybe the walking tour through, and history of, the village might be of interest.
I come here for more than the coffee. There's also Dino's massive cinnamon rolls.

And now....pancakes are back!
Been coming here for 52 years......

Just some kid who got into my pastry bag while I went for another coffee in the UnderDog.
This was pre-covid days - when you could sit under an umbrella and get breakfast served on the sidewalk on warm days....or, since most folks preferred to eat inside - just sit and read scooter forums while nursing a cup of joe from nearby Dinos. Things are very casual regarding the outdoor furniture scattered about the village. (being somewhat of a regular street loitering coffee drinker - I've purchased & placed 4 chairs so far in our fav spots)
At mid-day daughter here, and I, prefer to sit out on the main sidewalk for better 'people watching'.
