Title: Introducing Myself

I have been lurking on the forum for a while now, and I am proud to say my wife and are about to pick up a 2007 People 50!
The original owner purchased it from Sportique in Boulder and says it comes with their performance upgrade kit. I believe that includes a 70cc cylinder head and uprated variator and clutch springs.

It seemed to run quite well when I test drove it with lots of down low torque for such a small motor. However I have never been one to leave well enough alone. ;)

What else should I be looking at in terms of reliability or performance mods?

Are there any issues with riding two up for long periods of time and putting extra load on the motor/clutch?

Post by: art on October 09, 2010, 07:42:40 PM: Welcome to the forum ub! You can get 2up but not really designed for it. Will likely wear clutch and belts sooner but do the job. Main problem is suspension not much travel to begin with.
If you really have to mess with it ;) Intake and reeds are the next step and maybe a little larger roller weight,if looking for some more top end. May not want to mess with that though if you got alot of hills in your area (colorado ? :D ) You got a good one. I'd change to a synthetic oil asap if not allready. Good luck

..if the work was done correctly, and with GOOD parts...then you gonna have a little rocket-scooter...

Post by: Uber Wagon on November 09, 2010, 04:42:07 PM: Thanks all. Been commuting for a month or so now and all is working great. Put the buddy seat on and don't seem to be having any issues 2-up except on longer hills. (We are both <150lbs.)

It does peg the speedo pretty damn fast with the head upgrade so I think I will find a cheap GPS unit for a bicycle to get a better speed indication.

Next step is to figure out how to put a bike rack on it... 8)
