Title: You have a flat tire - now what?
Post by: Stig / Major Tom on September 21, 2020, 02:51:46 PM
Very briefly - every rider should carry a flat tire patch kit and a means to inflate the tire.
Even if you have a cell phone and a roadside recovery system in place, and even if your plan is to replace every flat tire with a new tire - there might be a time and place when you'll need to fix your own tire in order to get down the road to a safer place to stop.
The kits are small, and not that expensive - especially when compared to the price of a tow.

Shop Revzilla (or others) for patch kits and tire inflators.  AND - make certain you carry a pair of pliers to remove whatever is stuck in your tire!

I have had a flat tire 3 times, on 3 different scooters, while out on the road - my roadside repair and inflator kits got me home twice.

I had a flat in the front tire of my Like in the first 6 months of ownership. Luckily it was discovered in my driveway so no tow necessary. I used my patch kit and refilled the tire and that tire is still in use at 11000 miles. I do have roadside and towing though just in case.  ;)
