Pleasantly surprised to read this on a UK scooter site (scooterlab.co.uk) this morning:
“Since lockdown was eased in the UK, more and more commuters have woken up to the fact that they can own and ride a scooter for less than the price of their usual season ticket for public transport. Scooter sales for August were up by 39.5% on last year and motorcycle sales were up by 31.2%.”
Hope this is not just a short-lived phenomenon.

That is remakable! Well...ah...you just did remark, didn't you! Up 39.5% IS truly significant.

The motorcycle/scooter dealer I use had there inventory wiped out just about everything sold but for some dirt bikes. I was joking with him I have more inventory then he does, LOL.
The shop is a different story. They had so many machines brought in they had to stop taking in repair work because of the back log.
Glad to here its picking up on your side of the pond as well.

I have a friend looking for a new Yamaha Tenere 700 and he said there is no product, anywhere. Our local dealer has sold the majority of their inventory over the past 6 months with little to no new coming in.
Good for the motorcycle/scooter industry!

the owner of my local dealership is a client of mine, back in June, he told me that May was the best month he ever had, since he opened 21 years ago, then in July, he told me June was even better than May, they were running out of everything, a multi-brand dealer, they were able to get a truckload of units from Kymco, but the are basically out of new Honda/Yamaha/Suzuki/ Kawasaki, still a few of the high end Polaris, some Roxors, and a few used units, they are bringing sleds out early, just to have something in the showroom, at the same time, they want to hire 3 mechanics. Everything is going for MSRP+. And parts are spotty, a lot more than normal on backorder. No schedules on parts backordered from overseas, Still waiting for ball joints for my UXV450i, been 12 weeks now

Speedometer cable I ordered in March just came in Friday for the People 250S

part are so screwed up, instead of repairing the engine in my Kpipe, I'm just gonna get an aftermarket crate motor, add a few cc at the same time
