Not as esoteric as Stigs coffee house but for the last two weeks have been going for coffee every morning at 6am to the Holiday convenience store for fresh ground hazelnut coffee with a splash of hazelnut creamer. When I head back home to KS it will be back to 8 o'clock coffee brewed myself. I also depend on a grocery store deli to feed me up North. Today is walleye fillets, cottage fries and coleslaw for lunch.

love Minnesota! We vacation up there every summer...love everything about it. We don't go anywhere as far North as you do (think you're in Ely?)...but still love it. How about some pics?

Seems like half of my coffee village gets their take-away lunch at Tom's grocery. They put 18ft of international delicacies under that glass counter! If you're early (open at 7am) you can still score some great pastries. I like to introduce myself to the staff, standing there in my frost covered helmet. In this town they don't bat an eye😊

As soon as I get home. I'm barely able to make a phone call without standing outside on a hill, ZERO bars. Your correct I'm in Ely or right next to the boundary waters wilderness area.

This is just plain old home cooked food but fresh and hot. The only thing I've cooked up here has been apple smoked bacon and eggs.

The remaining coffee houses (cafes) around here are being squeezed out by a certain large American corporation with their European head office located in a Swiss broom cupboard.
Not for tax reasons y'understand but because Switzerland is centrally located.
Aye right.

In order to get a coffee from one of the national franchise (donut) shops even remotely close to my Dino's coffee shop ...I have to ask for their dark roast versions.
Dino rotates through a half dozen different beans each morning. All are brewed to give a strong cup....no matter what bean he ground that morning.
If you're needing it - he can add 1, 2, or 3 shots of expresso depending on the size of your cup. A "Shot In The Dark".
I tend to abuse my scooter on the ride home if i have more that one shot....

When tagging the Orange the guy behind me had a farm and grew coffee beans in Costa Rica. Had a roasting company in the US and a second home in McPherson.
