Title: Orange Kymco
Post by: Kansas kymco on August 10, 2020, 08:54:37 PM
Seen a bright orange Kymco Xicting.  Do you think the color would hurt resell or not make much difference?   One thing for sure you would get noticed.

Older gentleman bought the scooter 2 years ago and never got a chance to ride it. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor and doesn't have good balance.  Will stop and look at it on the way North.

I don’t know if it would hurt resale value or not. But if the price is right, I’d get it regardless. I don’t really think of resale value when I make a purchase . I simply consider whether I’d enjoy it or not. The color is an advantage though. Visibility is always an advantage in my opinion. So the color is a plus in my opinion . It will increase the odds of both you and the scooter being SEEN , thus increasing the odds of it surviving long enough to be resold . Lol.

And there will be others think the same way so, on balance, the resale value should hold up OK.

Well stopped on the way North and now have a Orange Kymco Xicting 250 with 5900 miles. Just a strange color on a scooter but being seen should not be a issue.   Not as bad as a color I seen on a new Yamaha that looked like semi-gloss grey primer.

Which just about describes the colour of my XTown - no choice in the UK market last year, to paraphrase Henry Ford, you can have any colour you like as long as it's grey!

PS Hey KK, thought you had gray over there, not grey?!

The color gray, a mistake on my part.

I'm having issues with picture size when I try to post, will work on it when I have a good Internet connection.  It's still listed in the stcloud.craigslist. com if your interested  in seeing it.

Well the color of my Agility is.........orange.
Right at the beginning I thought the color was a bit “girly” - but the color started growing under my skin and these days I simply LOVE the color. Visibility is an absolute bonus. In fact - I think the color “outshine” visibility of the front light during daylight.
So my next scooter needs to be orange as well - I don’t care what other people have to say. To my mind  the color of my scooter justifies riding without uncomfortable safety gear to a large extent.

The only color brighter would be high visibility yellow.

found it...actually a very nice looking color combo! I love Minnesota bikes...they always seem to be low mileage because they're ridden 4 months and put away for the other 8 months!

Thanks lahawk, need to figure out how to resize my photos, the jpg file is to large to post.

I just copied the image from Craigslist and saved it to my pictures. I didn't resize it.

When i take photos with my phone I email them to myself..and the email gives me the option of resizing, which I always do as the native pics are too large to post here.

Still a good looking bike you have!

Daughter and I  were sittin' on a bench in my coffee village (see the Letterman bench!) today....I  was showing her the finer points of 'old guys goofing in the sunshine' before she's back in college next week.
While we were sitting there sippin", spectating and narrating . ....a large bearded fellow on one of those orange Kymco Agilitys went by, twice. First time I've seen one in the wild. Colorful!
No idea if it was a 50 or the 125.
A green Vespa passed and then a silver Reflex went by. It was a red letter day for goofin'  and scooter spotting!
Sunny, low humidity and temps in low 70's brought 'em out?

A good day all around.

Although I like orange a lot I think the orange on this scooter is just a bit too overwhelming. I think this scooter would look way better if the orange parts had a mixture of orange, black and a bit of yellow like on the Agility.

Wouldn't be my first choice as well. I tend to be very conservative in my color choice.  I prefer white myself.

Agreed KK, and I see Kymco UK are doing this year's Xciting 400i in white...

My 2011 Downtown 300i was bright orange so I guess I'm girly but visibility is no.1 in my opinion. Red, yellow, orange or even white...but never black or dark colors for me. Loud pipes and loud colors save lives, hahaha!

Yep, heard another loud HD just after he passed me on the road this morning.
Need to find a way to turn those pipes around and aim them forwards😊😊

That's one thing I enjoy about the Kymco's is their quietness.

I think a lot of the noise I hear when cruising at speed on both my Liberty and LIKE is coming from the air intake?
The Liberty has the new Euro 4 specs --- which includes a quieter exhaust.
Seems about the same as my LIKE200iLX, which was designed over 10 yrs ago.

I know on my BMW'S that is the case. I hear the exhaust on my Kymco's but it's not objectionably loud.
