Lately it seems that it takes a long time for my Agility 50 to warm up even in 65 degree weather. I have to run it for at least five minutes before it starts to run smooth. Anyone have any idea's or suggestions what the problem might be?

Put 1 oz. per gal. of seafoam into the gas and put a new NGK iridium plug in . Good luck .

From my experience it is one of those things that you just have to get used to. The agilitys just don't like the cold, or the rain, especially the cold and rain together.
I does seems a little unusal that you would need to warm up that long if temps are still in the 60s, but as Word would say each scoot has their own personality. I find that even in the 50-60 degree range there is some warm-up involved, but usually reasonably gentle driving helps warm it up - alhtough there will be some hesitation for the first few minutes.
Taking 5 minutes to warm it up before you even try to ride if the scoot has been sitting outside in temps below 50 degrees isn't unusal in my experience. Depending how much cold weather you ride in, you might be up to 10 minutes of warm-up for temps below 30 degrees.

could be an auto choke issue ;)

Yeah you go that right- the auto choke (auto bypass in Kymco lexicon) sucks on the agility.
First winter I called the dealer and they said everyone who has the agility is complaining and they bring in the scoot but there's nothing mechanically wrong.
They never found a solution for it - tried changing carbs, testing auto bypasses etc. but no luck. Said just warm it up.
-
welcome to the kymco world. mine did the same tell I took it in to a dealer and they rejeted it for the cold weather it starts great in the cold but I did notice a little harder in warmer weather wich is fine with me . the frist year I had it I always had to heat the shed up just to start my scoot but Now I dont
it starts great in the cold. I beleave if you just have the carb tuned up and rejeted you well be all good.

That's good to hear that someone figured out a cold weather solution. First I've heard.
What jet was put in? I'll be getting one of those myself - getting cold here already.

..i do that in hot or cold weather anyway...however....
..it's a normal temperature change issue...
..it's true, the a50 is sensitive to temp and humidity changes..espeacially, if you're using a K&N type air filter...
..you might try opening the idle screw 1/4-1/2 a turn counter clockwise...
..that'll increase the fuel ratio to air into your idle mix...
..colder air is more dense, which might require a bit more fuel to keep it running well...
-
my gosh it was just a suggestion ::)

my gosh it was just a suggestion
And a good one at that. Sensing any frustration on my part with that auto bypass?
I'd rather have a manual choke that works...
-
..that "Auto-Bystarter" is just another manifestation of the nature of the beast...
..zombie, and i think, shaka are running manual chokes on their zx's...
..dunno of any other....
-
running manual chokes
That sounds tempting - I might consider that!
-
..yeah, sometimes my scoot needs "auto" choking...sometimes it is more of a nuisance....
-
Let's cut out the middle man and just go with the fuel injection.
-
Yep, oko carb, manual choke, just wish I could put on a remote control for it, on the handlebar.
-
wish I could put on a remote control for it, on the handlebar
...YEAH!!!!!!...
-
With it getting so cold this early in fall, I'm wishing I had a remote start unit.
Then I could hook it up to the clapper and be able to start the scoot from the shower.
-
They makes a shower clapper now? lol
-
..i saw a guy that had one of them on his chinese scoot last year...
..ain't seen him but the one time ...
..but that WOULD BE AWESOME!!!...
-
...clap on....
..rinse..dry..
...RIDE!!!
-
He had a shower clapper on his chinese scoot? ???
-
...clap on....
..rinse..dry..
...RIDE!!!
And if someone tried to steal the scoot you could just clap it off before they got to far away
-
He had a shower clapper on his chinese scoot?
..YEAH!!!!..no...lol..
..a remote key-fob thingy...lol..
-
lmao...I'm tryin' to keep up here. :D
-
..a KILL-SWITCH!!...remote!!!
..up to 5 miles....
..sounds like a patent-pending...
-
Well you could use the fob, but the clapper has a definite wow factor.
My concern about the remote start would be draining the battery.
-
They are on ebay, alarm, remote start, remote stop. I think either blue or yankee d had one.
-
..yup...
-
It would be funny to attach the motion sensor (on the alarm) to a sprayer filled with paint balls.

...wowww..you're mean!!!
;)
-
Rianna takes her security seriously.
Mean would be filling the paint balls with pepper spray!
-
lol...seriously, oswaldters, was thinking 'bout yer battery cover deal, when I thought that one up. Yeah, I thought about the mace too, but my luck, somebody, be walking their dog or something...better to have a bright green or red dog, lol
-
I wish I could come up with something clever to protect the scoot - well, really the various components of the scoot that I worry about people taking.
-
If something started spittin' pepper spray, or paint, or even water at me, I'd leave it alone for sure...lol
u could get ya one of them barking door mats and velcro it to the floorboard over the battery... :D
-
....dang...components...
..os,i aint ever heard of anybody else much gettin' ...
..parts...ripped off their scoot...wowww..
-
...touch th' scoot...
..eyes burning....
-
...another patent-pending....
-
aint ever heard of anybody else much gettin' ...
Let's hope we don't hear of it happening again.
-
That be a "Physical Alarm"
-
..yup...
..bump me i go "WHOOP-WHOOP"!!!!
;D
-
