I thought they were the largest. Not sure where I heard that, but I just assumed they were huge in Asia because of their lower-cost, high-reliability machines.

Lifan are highly involved with motorcycles, particularly in Africa, but no longer make a huge amount of scooters and have likely been surpassed by Znen (Zhongneng).

Lexmoto don't "make" any scooters :)

If it's not Honda, Piaggio, Suzuki and Yamaha I'd be very surprised!

Yes. They are mostly selling stuff from Senke, Tianda (closely related to Yamaha's Jianshe), Longjia and Znen nowadays.

They have the models made semi-bespoke for them, but it's badge engineering to a large extent.

Largest in India anyway; albeit not sure how that breaks down on just scooters.
Other than that Zhongshen is huge, & then it depends on how you count the Honda Cub, & it's clones as well.

That's the way I heard it, except Kymco was #6. I can't remember who the other top seller is.
