Title: Stock exhaust question
Post by: Cypher1982 on July 16, 2020, 08:07:25 PM: Hey guys, I have a 50 but had some curious things. I was hoping someone with a stock exhaust laying around may be able to do some looking for me. Also could use someone who doesnt mine turning a few wrenches for the say of learning lol.

I was curious on the stock exhaust, what its bore is coming from the engine and the outlet tail pipe. I just had some curious thoughts wondering if the 125 stock exhaust could end up being used as a sort of upgrade for us smaller 50 guys. Alsp probably wouldnt hurt to have a picture/measurement of head mounting flange and bolts. Haha sorry I'm needy. Still trying to get mine back to pulling well again. But she can do over 40mph gps verified and filled up last night and calculated 96mpg

Other than that, most 50cc exhausts share the same flange profile at the cylinder head, but the rest of the bolt holes don't always line up, requiring some custom fitting and welding. Sometimes it's worth the effort, but not always.

I dont want to open my can and hollow it out...I do t want it raspy or loud and obnoxious, but a quiet better flowing nice looking muffler would be nice

Guess I should put my reasoning out there also. I had my stock unit off the other day, and realized it's got to be VERY close to the 125 unit because of frame sizing and locations etc. But the 50xx unit is a double wall pipe and its very small internally

A welder is a step ahead of the cold bend bar stock mounts I've got.

LOL! Nothing on a Kymco, nor in the steel market, is in "inches"!! Press the button on your vernier caliper so we're talking the same language :-)

Awesome. So I'll drop mine and measure it. IF they were somehow the same part... I'd say that would rule out the need for an aftermarket pipe for the 50s wouldnt yoi?

Guys, do us a favor: steel is not measured in "inches" and converting it makes it worse as you can see. Nobody makes steel tubing in "inches" any more. Stick with the proper units, it's not rocket science! Thanks :-)
