Title: Anyone else using ACF-50?
Post by: Stig / Major Tom on June 18, 2020, 03:13:23 PM
I applied it again yesterday after I washed and waxed my Liberty. Worked it into hard to reach places with an old house paint brush, and rags.

I started using it a few years ago after watching the oil filter cap screws starting to corrode so soon on my new Burgman.

At every stop, and while sitting nearby having my coffee this morning - I got to enjoy the smell of it cooking into all the places I applied it.
It is not a pleasant smell, but I like knowing what it's doing down there.

Some bikes, like my son's Honda 500X seem to be so well coated with paint or clear coat - that it doesn't seem as necessary on most of the bike.
I recommend the hand pump ('spray') bottles.

I have thought about using it on my Subaru wagon..the top side is showroom perfect but the underside is a little crusty. I know our British friends swear by the stuff.

Youtuber 'The Missenden Flyer' applies it to all his bikes and has done a few videos on it.

Where do you get yours from Stig?

I've been using Demon Shine with a microfiber mit and a microfiber cloth for a final polish, works superb.

ACF 50 isn't a polish or wax. It's a corrosion preventer on metals.

Yeah it does sell well over this side of the pond Hawk and for good reason. During winter months we get tonnes of road salt spread which gets everywhere and is a real corrosion causer!  The main reason my Triumph hibernates from November to March/April each year...

Never heard of it until this thread. I some people up North undercoat their trucks with corrosion preventive.
