Over the last few months from time to time the scoot hasn't been starting easily with a second or two of the starter. Recently if this happens twice in a row I'll touch the throttle a bit when using the starter and it starts up. Anybody know why this is happening? It happened this week a couple of days after a fresh oil change, spark plug, and going through a tank with 1oz of techron in it. The only thing I can think of is a dirty carburetor about I've been consistent with techron.

This happens when the engine is cold or hot?

Same problem here. My Agility started battling to start after not being used for 4 or 5 days during lockdown, and now it battles to start every 2nd day.
We are approaching winter and I started thinking the automatic choke might be faulty. Unfortunately I do not have time to work on the scooter at the moment.

I've never checked the valves. Put another tank of techron in and will see how it goes.

Don't know how many miles on your engine, or what fuel you use.
After too many miles valves drift off setting...one symptom is hard starting. Regular use of any of the Top Tier fuels will make it totally unnecessary to use any additives. TT fuels have all the cleaners needed by modern engines.
In my day the Magic Juice was STP....a superb sponsor for race teams....and little else of real value.
If your engine is filthy...Techron will help car pass E-checks. Maybe.

In my fleet of nine scooters - they all have a little "personality". Some absolutely don't like to start if you touch the throttle, while some like the throttle cracked a bit. A couple with manual chokes are picky, too. Some must have the choke on to cold start, another will not. I have one that only needs the choke when it is warm for some reason.
Nothing to worry about - start yours as it likes :)

My Agility City starts almost immediately when the engine is stone cold.
No problem starts when warm and turned off for a few minutes, but for any other time I have to give a bit of throttle for it to start.
If not used for a week or so, it sometimes need a lot of cranking/swearing to get it going.
