I'm thinking about finding a couple more of the People 250 S for friends to ride and sell the 150's. Friends have not rode in years, maybe decades and I have some nice senic roads to take them on up North . The People 250 S has plenty of power, big enough for large person, large wheels, water cooled and not to big and heavy. I like the looks as well. Do you think this is a mistake to get rid of the 150's for the 250'S. The Xciting's are just to big and heavy for them to feel comfortable on.

the only downside I see to replacing the 150s with the 250s is the increased complexity and maintenance. If you're comfortable with that part (and I'm sure you are, with your large fleet of scooters!) then I don't see any downsides.
Can you even find 250s around? I have seen a few pop up on craigslist over the years...but nothing for a long time.

The trouble as you said is they don't stay on craigslist very long and recently they sell for more then NADA. Probably won't find any low mileage good deals until next winter. I noticed a People 300S as well. I can't believe how fast low mileage scooters are selling for along with premium prices. Especially since you can purchase a new leftover 2019 300I for a steep discount.

How much does a 250 weigh? The 150's gotta be under 300 pounds therefore light as feather feeling. The 250 probably is getting close to 400 pounds and that may be intimidating to rusty riders.
I test rode some new v-twin Yamaha last year ans while it seemed delightful, I thought it would be a bad idea for a guy pushin' 80 to take on. Besides, the back tire replacement was nearly 300 bucks!

Crossbolt the people150 weighs 245# the people 250S weighs 348 and my xciting's 500 weighs 473#. The xciting is just down right a pig weight wise but it makes it ride great on the highway especially with it's long wheelbase.
That is why I'm asking opinions. I already have the 150's and they have very few miles on them 2200 Lambretta and 5500 on the Kymco. I don't want to intimidate them where they don't feel comfortable.

Yup, that longer wheel base and large tire OD really does the cruiser make!

Kinda depends on your friends and how much ya want them to keep up with a bigger bike.
It really was a tough decision to get from of my S200 & keep the SYM HD200 since the simplicity of the two valve air cooled motor is tough to beat.
I've debated if I did the right thing more than a couple times, but in the end went for more power.
With that said.
If I had just a couple bikes that mostly sat around for the occasional foray with friends use I'd probably try to keep it simple.
The People 150 and related are decent bikes, a bit slow for freeway use but they can handle it.
If Had bikes around for frequent rider friends and we wanted to handle wider vistas and faster roads then 250 would make more sense.
My two bits anyway. Your results may vary.

Tromper- The scooters will never see a freeway just county roads and roads around the lake (less traveled roads). Use will be very infrequently. None of us (except the woman ) are under 200#. I have extra riding gear as well so all they will purchase is a helmet if my extra stuff don't fit. Have extra gear from people who gave me their gear when I purchased the 500's, armored mesh jackets, gloves and helmets.
Wanted to add I appreciate everyone's input and perspective.

Do you really want to put your friends who hardly ever ride on a bigger, heavier and faster scooter? I'd stay with the 150's. If you aren't going on the interstate they are fast enough to go most places.

Good point, decided to keep the 150's and have a couple people 250's and let them choose what they are comfortable riding.
