Hi Guys, I have a Kymco Maxxer 375 with a Electric Choke. The quad starts fine but runs rich which is expected but it continues to run rich. So I checked the power for the choke from the Stator and it is there, I took off the choke and put 12 volts to it and it did move but only about 1/16th of an inch.
So I would like to ad a manual choke instead of electric. Does anyone know a part number or any idea where to find one.

Can you post a picture of your auto-choke/enricher/by-starter? If it is the standard used on most kymco carbed machines hammerhead makes a 25 dollar manual pull choke that I have on my scoot.

That is the link to the one I bought for my scooter. There is no guarantee that it fits but from the standardized carb mounts I think it would. It is simply the needle and slide from the auto choke attached to a pull cable.
It might work.

Or you can cut apart the one you have and epoxy a cable on to the needle end:) I typically purchase a replacement part before modding anything so I can bolt it back together if it doesn't work.
P.S. The DIY is fairly difficult as getting a structurally sound epoxy joint is not easy.

Although the casing upper looks different I think the o-ring and mount point may be the same. These are the guts from my failed auto by-starter that I used for a manual. Also the hammerhead manual installed.

The only way to know if it would work would be to measure the o-ring outer diameter and the metal "C" clamp to see if it is the same size as this one. also the distance between the clamp groove and the o-ring.

The outside diameter of the o ring and the inside diameter of the c clamp are both the same:
0.782 inch or 19.84 mm

I just measured my auto choke and the o-ring external is 19.8mm but the clamp is inset .5mm as you can see in the photo. There is enough slop in the clamp however to slide onto the groove diameter of yours.
In other words, I think it would be a bolt on fit.
The manual choke is spring powered to close when you release it. If you need it to remain pull for extended times I cut a little angled ramp with a slot in the middle as a holder.
