Title: Agility rear brake lever
Post by: TBR125 on May 09, 2020, 11:43:31 PM
About a year ago a truck took off the last 2 inches of my Agility 125 brake lever in a parking lot. I need to replace just the lever. What lever would fit? I don't care if it matches or is genuine.

I have found mostly outrageous prices for used Kymco "shorty" levers(which coincidentally look just like mine) on Ebay. I'm fairly handy with metal work and am looking at cutting and milling a lever from a 1/2 inch steel plate for the sake of a time consuming Quarantine project.

Any thoughts on an appropriate lever weight, length, or style?

Plenty of levers on ebay for less than $10.
Trick is to match shape and hole diameter to stock.
Son and I have managed this on scooters and his Honda bike.
Neither of us paid more than $20 for a full set of them.

Ok, thanks. How do I find the actual dimensions of the online lever without buying several?

Like I said, that is the fun part. Quite a few will give you the dimensions in the description.
Measure your lever and go exploring the web.
There are a whole slew of them for sale from Asia.....ebay, amazon, alibarbara  ;) etc.
Many will sell you a set with a clutch lever - you don't want those!

You could end up with a nice adjustable set to match the color of your bike. We did.
Gotta do the legwork and look at a lot of them on the net.

Thanks Stig, I will continue the lever search.

I understand the knowledge certainty of OEM components but the gas pockets and impurities throughout the kymco cast lever did not impress me.

Had my scooter blown over on the left side by a very strong wind.
A few scratches, but the rear brake leaver was badly bent.
Got a replacement lever from RMS (Italian company) that is completely the same as the original.
I would do what Stig wrote and would find a leaver that fits, lots of them on the net.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200511/8976748f985a7baebf50c7819a63a5b2.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200511/cdcd8e1b1c6c8adee9e4ab6069b24bc5.jpg)
