Title: 16 agility issues

Hi all,

the other day I replaced a turn signal on my scooter. Being the clumsy person I am, I messed up the inside of the signal, and now my scooter has no turn signals, weak horn, and electric start did not work. Kick start worked fine though. Headlight worked as well. Any one have any ideas?

A little more specific,  please.
You replaced the bulb, or  .....?
Cutting wires, or unplugging things?
If working with the wiring - did you disconnect the battery?
Did you "hear" anything unusual while doing whatever you did?

I ended up blowing a fuse, which I got replaced. Now, all the lights, horn, etc works, but the electric start still doesn't. It worked before I blew the fuse, but now it does not. Is it possible that I blew the starter when I blew the fuse?

No - if the fuse was correctly rated the starter should not be damaged.

You can bridge the two big terminals at the starter solenoid with a short piece of wire first, to test the starter motor. The motor should still swing when you do this.

The problem could be caused by a corroded fuse terminal, the fuse sitting too loose at the fuse connections,  a faulty switch, corroded terminals, burnt wires, or maybe a faulty starter solenoid.

You can test the starter solenoid with a Volt meter to see if it gets power. Just switch the Ignition switch “on”, and let somebody pull the brake levers and hit the starter button. Then you do a voltage test on the small terminal at the solenoid switch.
- If you get a voltage reading and the starter motor does not swing, it means all switches are still fine - but the solenoid is faulty.

- if you do not get a reading at the small terminal, it means you can have a look at the other possibilities as mentioned above.
