A half a century ago CCR were played on tape decks, and the Armed Forces Vietnam Network, from the DMZ to the delta in S. Vietnam.
They remain a favorite with a lot of Vietnam veterans.

I may be current gen. but even that is to new for me. I grew up on Jim Reeves, Marty Robbins, and Buster Keaton silent films.
