Title: Favourite piece of scootering kit
Post by: Neil955i on April 14, 2020, 01:32:17 PM
OK Kymco riders, here’s one which I did on Twitter and got a sackful of interesting replies. What’s your favourite piece of riding kit and why?

I’ll kick off by nominating my Dianese cordura gore-tex jacket as even after 20 years service, it still keeps me warm and dry. So damned versatile.

mine is probably all that's on my head! My Shoei RF1200 helmet (was such a huge upgrade over my first, cheap helmet)..combined with the foam earplugs I always wear, and my recent addition of a Cardo bluetooth speaker unit. I stream music from my phone to listen to while i ride. All at very low volume so I can still hear the traffic.

Does that count as one item?

I envy your head dress chief. I've got a 99 dollar yellow bell helmet.

To have any level of comfort on 2 wheels----you need warm/keep you dry clothes/rubber boots for the rain or waterproof boots/gloves, mitts hard one to solve(warm, dry and still allow use of controls),  Helmets I tend to buy the 3/4 $40 ones and change twice a year (stink).   I like helmets around 2 lbs....hard to find!  Of course foam ear plugs   and sense enough to get off every hour or so and walk around bike.

And proper way to secure things to bike/scooter safely when riding

1. My heated gloves
2. My heated gillet.
3. My big screen.

I should just buy a car.

My Gerbing heated gloves  are fabulous. I still use them even though I have heated grips as they keep my knuckles toasty! Also my RAM ball that allows me to connect a number of different bits to the bike. Extra Sat nav, mobile phone, cup holder, dash camera etc.

Cheap yellow 3M foam earplugs.
(IMHO - gives the perfect amount of noise reduction in a closed modular helmet)

Sorry, three items.
1) Scorpion, two-piece leather suit with external armor.
2) Racer brand riding gauntlets.
3) Helite air vest.
All very comfortable and together have saved my bacon in a crash.
