hi I know the manual says sae90 do i use synthetic or semi-synthetic or mineral oil tks in advance

I use Honda Pro Gear Oil 80/90. @ $4 for 8oz. bottle.

80W90 mineral here. I bought the scooter at about 8500 km d stripped the gearbox at about 19000 km. Had a close look at the gears and couldn't find any signs of wear.
Compared to synthetic oils mineral oils start breaking down at lower temperatures but the gearboxes on these scooters never run too hot. According to some info elsewhere on the web miiniral oil might actually have slight better lubrication properties at lower temperatures. Therefore I just use the mineral oil which I bought long ago.

Tks for the info I got this, in the end, 500ml PUTOLINE SCOOTER GEAR OIL SAE 90 TRANSMISSION OIL was £9.00 should last me a few oil changes, it is suitable for 4 stroke as well as 2 stroke the supplier spoke to the manufacturer to confirm it I intend to change gear oil when i oil change its cheap enough to do this and i am checking brakes I have dot4 in for that so this weekend if its not blowing a gale as it in the UK now ill do a mini service.

You can user either, the most important thing is to not over tighten/strip the threads on the gear oil drain bolt. Hand tighten do not use the torque settings in the manual. See my threads on this.
