Who many miles downtown 350 can run without changing the engine? He could do 50000 miles ?

My DT300 did 80,000km before it was a write off. The engine was fine except an oil leak.

I think he said on another post that someone crashed into his rear at a stop and wrecked everything. Maybe he will tell us where the leak was since I think it started before the crash. Bet it was hard valve cover rubber washers!

Yep oil leak from the valve cover, valve cover bolts, wiring harness for the stator and right side engine cover. It basically cost more to repair the scooter + damaged plastics than to sell it or renew registration.

Which oil did you use? And did you had problems with the scooter in this 80000km?

Based on over 400,000 miles of rubber band drive scooters-----a good one should last over 100,000 miles with nice care.  In N America I use WalMart house brand oil 10-40----stay away from dealers except for warranty work, use OEM drive belts.

On 11th Maxiscooter since 1990, XTown 300i ABS----at 9,000 miles or so, no trouble or warranty claims.  Don't worry, just ride and take care of the bike.

Note:  I trade at about 50,000 miles as I like new bikes/scooters and like riding on warranty

I used 15W-40. There were no other issues and it ran fine.
