Triumph Triple....
In my day, they called that the "Trident".
I remember seeing 'em in a Texas dealership. The BSA version was the Rocket.
Those were the days - bikes had real seats!
Girls sat down where it was safe.
Wife & I were teens - still, poor excuse for letting her ride in short-shorts and culottes. We did wear Bells...……………….

sorry.....went off there - remembering those white short-shorts.....

Here're mine.
Clever place for the exhaust.
Neil - you ever smell a roast cooking when idling at a light?

Triumph Triple....

Well spotted Karl, yes it's a Triumph Street Triple 675R, 2012 model.  Bought to replace my old (1999) Daytona 955i as the riding position on that was far too radical for enjoyable long rides with my poor old back!

Stig I'll gloss over your reminiscences as I am occasionally guilty of similar myself!  The exhausts, despite being so high up never feel close enough to heat either my legs or my wife's which says a lot for the design.  That said, the later models have switched to a single, more conventionally placed set up.  I actually like the look of the high-risers.

Thought I'd ask....my son mentions the heat coming off of his R6 a stop lights.
Other than looking cool, is there some performance reason for raising the bike's COG with high pipes?
Must be some thing...see a lot of bikes this way.
Fording rivers?

Honest view Stig?  Clear case of form over function?  Maybe a not so elegant nod in the direction of that Ducati style icon the 916.
