can anyone explain to me or draw the orientation of the piston rings
where the gaps needs to be
i found different positioning and i don't know which is the right one
i am adding a picture from kymco manual however i dont understand it
the scooter is kymco movie 125 xl

Since not replies yet, I’ll jump in. Ring end gaps on each individual ring can be anywhere as long as they not all in the same position. Example, Set the top ring gap at the 12 o’clock position, set the second ring at the 3 o’clock, the 3rd ring at the 6 o’clock and the bottom ring, if it has one, at the 9 o’clock position
Also, the top 2 or 3 rings should have a letter or some type of marking on them. That letter or marking always faces up. Good luck

Souzamoto is exactly right but I will add just a couple of points. Your excellent picture is showing ring openings at 12 o'clock, 4 and 8 o'clock. Like souzamoto said just so they are not lined up! The other point is this is "good engineering practice" for when every friction item is new and not "mated" this will ensure minimum blow-by during breaking in. Truth is, the rings rotate during operation!
