Hated to do it...but took my final ride of the season today, about 20 miles...before prepping the scoot for the long winter nap. Filled the tank with ethanol free fuel, added stabilizer, drained the carb bowl and did an oil change. Did a final wipe down with detail spray and covered her up with a soft, fleece blanket. Only thing I didn't do was pull the plug and fog the cylinder, like I have the other years. I think it will survive just fine.
The ride today was nice. I forgot how much wind (leg) protection a scooter gives you. It was in the upper 40's today and I wan't cold at all. Hoping to get another 2-3 weeks out of my motorcycle before I put her away for the season, too.
Then it's youtube motorcycle videos and scooter and bike forums to get me through to Spring.
Anyone else in the cold weather states call it a season, yet?

Here in Ohio, I plan to ride through the winter - roads permitting.

Here in the UK [emoji636] I manage to ride my scooter through the winter, although the length of the rides does shorten noticeably [emoji3063]

Up here in the wilds of The North, I ride year-round, provided the roads are dry and the bike will start (it always does, since it sits on a battery-minder all winter).

Regardless of where I am living---Northern Europe/Korea, N. Wisconsin-(stuck in South now) I never put prime bike or scooter away---there are always days you can use with right gear.

as much as I miss riding in the winter, the bitter cold and the sand and salt that they so liberally spread around here (Iowa City, IA) really keeps me from doing it.
I did finally install my pinlock visor in my helmet (3rd riding season with this helmet, first time using pinlock) and wow, that thing really works! No fog at all in the couple rides I've used it.
More power to all you guys who ride through the winter. I will look forward to jealously reading about your adventures through the winter!

Up here in the wilds of The North, I ride year-round, provided the roads are dry and the bike will start (it always does, since it sits on a battery-minder all winter).
Ottawa a bit colder and further north than Toronto but I usually start putting some of my rides to bed about now. Will be putting snow tires on the car on Friday and snow is expected on Saturday... but it might get milder again for a few days after that.

Here in Southern California it sometimes drops to as low as 50 degrees in the winter and maybe rains four or five times. I actually need my jacket liner and gloves during this bitter cold weather we have for a couple months.
