Title: Big winds - parking!

Winds up to 35 mph on ride in this morning.
Wet leaves, branches, cross-winds....dealt with.

It is the street parking that is concerning me.
Gusts whipping down the street here. Wouldn't try parking a scoot with a large screen in this stuff!...big top-case is a concern.
Parked quartering into the gusts....but may give it up and head home soon.
Scoot's never been down. â€¦

Post by: john grinsel on October 27, 2019, 01:04:31 PM: Can be problem. I always try to park (in big wind) where the gusts are blocked. Funny but Harley Big Twins can be parked in big wind.....and your don't have to worry about them getting blown over! Harley has probably the best side stands in the business. I have had various bikes blown over, over the years. Covers only add to the sail problem.

Post by: boo on October 27, 2019, 02:15:27 PM: I had a friend that owned a big Honda motorcycle. It had a straight kickstand on it. I can remember it blowing over two or three times in moderately high winds. It happens more often than you think.

Seem to recall earlier Ducatiâ€™s (SS900?) had self-retracting side stands. Caused many an accidental topple!
