Title: Wheelbearing Maintenance - how often ?
Post by: scooterfan on October 24, 2019, 11:13:45 AM
At just more than 18000 Km I noticed a strange noise and slight vibration on my Agility. The noise became louder and seem to be coming from the front wheel bearings.
According to the online Service Manual the wheel bearings can be serviced and re-greased. Which makes me wonder - how often do the wheel bearings need to be serviced ?

For the time being it looks like I have no option other than having a good look at the wheel bearings.

Once you have a look and decide you need new bearings please if considering replacing go to an industial supplier for double sealed versions of whatever number is on the original.

Thanks, I will probably have to replace the bearings. Once a wheelbearing becomes noisy it’s usually too late to get serviced.

When I have wheels off for tire replacement. ..I'll give them bearing to pop in for me. Just a few $ expense.

Makes sence, and something to remember. Specially the front bearings are quite small and I don’t think it will last much longer than the lifespan of a wheel.

Depends on the bike. I spent a few years riding C90s and they seemed to go through bearings every 6 months or so... :(
