Interesting post by a Vespa owner who is having trouble selling his great running but highly tuned scooter.
It is a model which is, in stock form, considered to be bullet proof.
It seems that, to most Vespa buyers, all of his expensive modifications are seen as a reason to give it a pass.
Experienced Vespa traders have seen this happen before, they say.
I fully agree - that a solid running stock vehicle is worth more to me than is one which has been modified.
(in order to make his Vespa more desirable - he is un-building it - back to stock)
Fortunately, few Kymco owners perform heavy modifications - and if they do, I doubt they will find that they've increased its value on the used scooter market....and have maybe lowered it.
Personal cosmetic modifications might best be removed for best results on the resale market, as well.
I've seen some hideously safety striped scooters on offer - promoted by the seller as a bonus😊 of some sort.

I may be old and stodgy but I see very little to be done on Kymco's 125 and up with some exceptions. The performance of each displacement category seems quite right. That, in my opinion, needs to be left as is especially if you plan on trading later. There are models that have issues but are dealt with over the years on here quite well. There are even models to avoid.
