question......What are the three quarter inch (more or less) rubber tubes that are hanging down on the left side on the kymco agility 50 (2009) near the front end of the (shiny) helical spring that holds the scooter stand in place...and getting down on my knees to look more carefully see that they all run up sort of together to a point where they then run a ways back and into the area of the engine.
Please pardon my ignorance of mechanics and part names.......I just happened to notice them for the first time tonight when I need to take a good look at the two scooter stands...........maybe they are air intakes (?) or what.....it just seemed a bit strange to me to see them hanging there.

PS......The scooter seems to be working just fine......so I don't see that there is anything wrong.........Its just curious to see them there

..if you're talking about the open-end tubes...
..one is the drain tube from the bottom of your carburetor's bowl...
..another is the tube that would drain any fuel that might leak from the petcock area..
..the other is the overfill drain for your fuel tank...
..don't sweat not knowing...it's why we're all here...

They would possibly be the carb drai,n, carb vent and battery vent.

Thank you all very much....It had me worried.
I had taken a curve to the left rather steeply an scraped the side stand foot a bit on the pavement.........no real damage though.. ;D ;D ;D

...that's the very reason i removed the side stand...

Yeah, I'm still only seeing two. I'm not sure where the third one should be. I'm trying to trace the origin and end point of all the tubes or hoses the same approximate size in diameter. :-\

if you only see 2 no big deal the one from the over flow from the gas tank might be gone.
I have see people pull theam off befor then the extra gas well just drane over the back tire.

Sounds like a fun time if you run over a cig butt that someone just threw out of their car window ermm a discarded cig butt wouldnt light petrol to be honest be it in liquid or vapour form,naked flame will :)

dont try this but you can throw a cig butt into a pool of petrol/gasoline and nothing will happen apart from a hiss as the butt goes out.Just stay well away with the naked flame tho you could wind up char grilled,dont beleive what you see in the movies ;)

I have tried that with petrol in a can, hiss, but went out. I wouldn't like to try with vapour though.

seriously vapour is exactly the same it wont ignite,just dont use a naked flame,you could walk thro a room full of petrol vapour while smoking and nothing will happen,well you may get quite high of it.The only reason petrol ignites via spark plug is because its under compression and perfect atomised air to fuel mix,its quite hard near on impossible to do this in the real world ie your home :)

I won't be testing out the flammability of gas, but I realize that if the gas was that easy to light then it wouldn't matter if the overflow was by the center stand, rear tire or anywhere else.
Still, it would be a sight to see a scooter blasting down the road at night with flames coming from the rear tire!
