Anyone know if there is a decent aftermarket air filter replacement and where I can get on up in Canada?

The air filter is one of hose Kymco parts that come from Kymco.  FWIW, the filters can be washed and dried and re-used.

Here's the answer to my own question; HiFloFiltro - HFA5003 (listed for KYMCO Xciting 250 2006-2008).  HiFloFiltro also make the oil filter, part # HF562.  Both are available from Fortnine in Canada.

What sort of foam are you using and where do you get it?

That green foam may be found at Cycle Gear and just about any ATV store. I have not checked Amazon....
It is 5/8ths inch thick, two sheets, about 12" square = $15.00 US, if I remember right...
