Title: whoooooooo hoooooooooo
Post by: omfgdotcodotuk on September 16, 2010, 02:59:42 PM
Right as promised i would post you all on progress today ive been a busy lil bee,and yes the restricted variator boss is gone GONE I TELLS YA lol. What a difference 45mph on a slight incline and around 39 to 40 on the flat.I found a mint video to help you remove the variator pulley you really dont need any specialised tools just a little loctite to make sure it stays on there after. You tube (How to remove the variator nut on a Kymco Super 8) its exactly the same as your a50 and it worked a treat for me just make sure the spanner sits nice and square were you put it and the 17mm nut gives up the fight quite easy with a bit of effort. So the scoot has gone as far as i can take her right now as funds are low but i will be investing some hard earned cash on some more speed mods something to get me to the top speed a little quicker would be good :).So all your ideas and input will be appeciated taken on board and put into practise in the not to distant future. Thanks to all of you on here who helped Slinger im looking at you ::) and i will continue to read and reply to your posts best as i can im sure i can help someone somewhere lol.Tc all the best and happy scooting  :) omfgdotcodotuk

..prototype blown air induction...

..uses forced air from the engine's cooling fan to increase air flow through the carburetor...

..yeah....there's a small tube on the end of the filter with a flow valve, that i used to regulate warm air into the airflow during the cold (25 degree) mornings to keep from running lean...

 ;D

You put that valve in there? Or it came that way? Cause that's pretty clever too.

..i drilled and tapped the end of my K&N filter...

..the other end of the tube went into the engine's shroud by the carburetor...

..nice hot air blowing out there...

...it can be 25 in the morning and then 60 non th way home...

..with th K&N it became a delima for me to regulate my fuel mix...

..but the warm air addition in the morns made life more enjoyable for me...

Oh, i bet! Because I can imagine the frustration you had the other morning when you said you had to ride half-throttle all that way to work. Had to be rough.

I was trying to post up a pic for sid to show him some dogs do love scooter rides, lol. A friend stopped by today and she convinced me to take the dog for a ride because she noticed the dog kept trying to get up on it the scooter. I wasn't gonna do it, but she got the milk crate and bungee cords and strapped it on like she knew what she was doing. Anyway, I only took her a block or two, (because she wouldn't set her butt down, lol) but her daughter took a pic with her phone. I guess she's not home, so I left a message for her to email it to me if it turned out. That silly dog stood up with her front feet up on the backrest and her head straight up in the air like she was howling at the moon trying to get all the wind she could.

Yeah, I haven't seen it yet, but I'm sure it had to look funny! Her harness was clipped onto an extra collar attached to the side of the crate. She seemed like she couldn't stand up high enough. lol. They only live a few doors down so if I don't get an email tonight I'll walk over tomorrow and see if it turned out.

That's a good thing, though. Lots of folks without jobs and all. But I guess it don't make it any more fun when Sunday AM comes along and you want to sleep late.
