Title: Dealing with muffler Rust

I inspect my LIKE200i's muffler for rust.
A camera is the easiest way for me to see the under side.
Wash, scrub, brush, mask off with newspaper,  and spray with HighHeat paint without removal - seems to have kept it at bay for 7 years of 365 riding in Ohio..

I have removed it and painted - but it takes 3 hands for re-installation, and a lift would be nice!
Then there's dealing with getting the gasket properly seated.... So, unless I'm having an OCD Day - I leave the muffler bolted up.

And always enjoy the smell of the paint cooking/curing.

Stig: I put my exhaust (Kymco Yager/Frost) back on yesterday - yes three hands would be good, but a tool box under the exhaust helps!

I tied the muffler end with twine to the crash bar, letting it hang approximately lined up with bolt holes, then fitted it onto the front exhaust studs and loosely nutted those down. Then began loosely fitting all the bolts ,etc.
A small adventure.....
