Title: What's a good reading for a battery at rest?

Meter connected to a battery in a scooter with the key off?
Or, doesn't that tell much of anything about the battery's health?

Getting 12.87 on my LIKE's 14Ah battery....using the battery tender plug-end.
Have an old YUASA on the shelf - get 12.46 on it.

That reading is good at rest but you’ll need a true battery tester to see what the CCA is at rest.  I literally just did the exact same thing to one of our cruisers today.    Battery reads CCA is suppose to be 750 and with the vehicle off it tested at 350.   So time for a new battery.

Could you recommend a good (enough) CCA tester for home use...under $50?
Would be handy for our cars and scoots,  with winter coming on.

2.1 volts per cell no load X 6 = 12.6 volts no load. Nominal, up down a little OK. David E.has a good point and Harbor Freight should have a good load tester in your price range. Anything that draws at ten amps should work if it has a decent volt meter on it.
