So why is Huntsville called the Rocket City?

The United States Air Force Museum* at Wright Patterson A. F. base petitioned for one of the retiring shuttles....but it went elsewhere. The museum has a full sized mock-up with some original parts....the most popular with tourists is the shuttle toilet😊

*one of my best memories of my Pop is the night his old WWII bomber outfit had a reunion dinner in the closed museum. Catered by the base's (Bob) Hope Hotel. Mrs Stig and I listened that evening to many stories told by his crew. Most were hilarious - a few others were not.
Like many old WWII vets, my father never spoke to us of those years.
Pretty special dinner served with fine china, under the wings of these huge old planes - with these old fellows in this museum of war relics.

I decided to take a short ride today to grab the ADV scooter tag.

I grabbed the tag with this:
