...unless you modify or replace the exhaust, those jets will be too large...

..i would think that around 90-95 would be a good place to start doing plug chops...

..I have used 10w-40 since forever...

..i'll measure a boss, but i do believe it's @ 20mm in outside diameter...

cheers slinger yet again your a god send bud.if you could measure the od , id and length off boss that would be great, the jets are so going back tomorrow and i think the filter will be too as the picture shows a clear 30+ degree bend in it and mine is straight so it will sit on top of the engine gathering all that power soaking warm air :o tc bud and thanks again :)

Not that questions are ever unwelcome in the forum (I ask all kinds of silly crap) but...

hit all the old posts in the a50 and the how to section.

its a gold mine and has helped me so much.

plug chop is a way to see if you are running lean or rich.

As much as I've read here I still and not entirely sure how to do it properly.

Good luck man, sometimes we think we've ordered the magic part only to see it was a cheap card trick.

..i cut open and removed the catalytic converter, which i wish i had left in, because it was not restrictive...

..but i did drill these holes in the bottom of my pipe...

..it worked!!

..i'm in NO WAY suggesting that anybody do this!!!

..i'm always modding to the extreme..thinking outside the box...

..see my "blown air induction" threads...lol..

..but getting ready to re-jet to a 103...1.03mm diameter...

so lets say lets think out the box here for a mo ;) drilling holes ie 3 to 4 around 4 to 6 mm at the bottom of the pipe will improve the performance and allow me to run a 100 + jet set up bud holes obviously to back / baffled part of system.does this dramaticaly up the sound level of the bike ????

..my holes are about 10 mm...

..any time you can increase air-flow through your engine, it will, with the correct jetting perform better....

..up to a certain point...which we will not exceed!...lol..

..it gave my scoot a more throaty sound...

..the air filter will more dramatically increase th volume!!...

..and again...i don't say to anybody...go drill your exhaust...

..except sid...think i told him to once or twice!!..lol..

peace

do you know the standard jet size in the a50 bud?????
Title: Re: Someone help please
Post by: glopezz05 on September 15, 2010, 04:27:31 PM
I guess its the right size to fit...

The Standard jet size is 88 from what I hear.

Seems like you'll have about half a kit you can't use but the rest should be good.

4 stroke engine, that sounds like pcv pipe. It should feed back into the inlet. I believe some are just pegging it up out of the way.

I think it just catches some of the unburnt gases at the head and sends them back through the air filter, I just plugged it up.

..omfg...thanx man...

..i like being able to help my brothers and sister of the scoot...

..i've made a bunch of mistakes along the way, and if i can keep somebody from having to go thru some of those, it's all worth the while...

ermm the small bore pipe coming from the head to the airfilter

..that is indeed, the positive crankcase vent...

..don't plug the rubber tubing, as it allows vapors and built-up pressure to escape from the valve cover..

..i simply doubled it around and tucked in between the other tubing/cables that run down the left-hand side of the engine..

..in some scoot forums, ppl will say that the scoot really needs this hooked back into the suction of the carb's air intake, with an oil "catch-can" inline...

..i've not experienced any problems wit leaving my tubing open on the end, just have to wipe it clean from tme to time...

peace
