Title: UNI Filter with modded location

Typically I've seen the UNI or othery open filters attached directly to the carb...

I remembered I still had the old air box and got to cutting it with my knife... 

results in the pic...

Hoping to get some cooler air out there.  We'll see how it goes.

the intake noise is now directed out the side of the scoot instead of up and back.

filter shows a little more on the port side of the scoot.

I seem to have lost the sluggish hard starting in the morning with this mod.

I think it may have to to with reduced airflow.

I haven't put a bigger jet on, just slightly modded the old one, so not running as lean...

What is the size you use ... 35MM or 38MM
