Hello guys, so yesterday I noticed the oil service light was on and I think it turned on after I went full throttle for a bit when merging onto a highway.
I just changed the oil and filter 530 km ago so I was wondering what's wrong.
I just drained the oil out again and poured some new oil and I thought that would solve the problem, but light is still on when I start the bike. Should I go for a ride a bit and see if the light turns off? I haven't changed the filter because I thought it's really new, but should I dump the oil and again and change the filter as well?
What are some other possibilities that cause the oil service light on?
Thanks!

It is just a reminder light that comes on every 5000km. There is nothing to worry about as it is not a fault.
You can cancel the light by pressing 'mode' until you get to the odometer and them hold 'mode' and 'set' at the same time for 3 seconds. Turn your bike off then on and the light will disappear.

I suggest reading the owner's manual before panicking....these things are not idiot proof.

You are right, I have the service manual and not the owner's manual I thought the service manual will have everything the owner's manual have and more, but turns out the oil service light is mentioned on the owner's manual but not the service manual.
Thanks mousejunks and john grinsel for the answers.

Yes, and there may be some confusion since the DT300i has four (4) odometers: ODO, TRIP 1, TRIP 2, and (blank) the oil service odometer. You gotta push the ADJ button and scroll though the odometers until you get to (blank) and THEN push both MODE & ADJ until that number goes to 0.0. Have fun!
Whodda thought, four odometers!
