What does that do to the highway handling of a scooter this weight?

It's not lit. It does have a very slick detachment mechanism letting you carry it like a hard suitcase.
As for the handling, I'll let you know. I doubt there will be anything heavy going in there. It will be more used as storage for helmets when off the scoot. I don't trust the underseat storage compartment to open when I really need it to.

I should point out that the photo makes it look a lot bigger than it actually is!

I would not worry about handling unless you want to fill it with shotgun shells! I have carried up to 150 pounds on mine without problems. That was on the rack and rear seat. It is sorta like a rider on the pillion.

Now that's a big top case. Wish my mechanic had ordered the Givi like he said he would instead of the Shad he installed.
