Title: Rain, Rain, GO AWAY
Post by: Rianna on September 12, 2010, 03:31:22 AM
I was all rested up and feeling refreshed today. Got the scoot up to the road with no problems. Then I only got to ride for like 10 minutes and it started raining. Grrrr

Okay, I'm done complaining (for now.)

They want 24 bucks for shipping to my area!! LOL. That Shoe helmet I snagged was $9.99 with $12.35 Shipping. Go figure. Yeah, if I had me some money, I'd have them boots, missing spikes or not and my feets would be on the ground. hahaha

lol, art. They better do it. I don't think they come much bigger than that.

I generally wear leather hiking boots, sturdy, ankles covered, lace up. The boots I wear when I go out of town are Dri-rider riding boots, $185. Good protection, which I hope I never need.

We already received some of it.  And more tomorrow.

But we do need it to help end this drought so send it on up!

I'll find out how the new tires work in the rain tomorrow as they are predicting heavy rain and t-storms.

Then again, I was told to be careful on the new tires until they get 'scuffed' up more and have better grip.

Huh, I never knew that about new tires. Makes sense. I hope they work good for ya.

Sending all rain oswaldters way to end the drought!!!

Just aerated, fertilized and over seeded the lawn so ready for the rain!

I'll be taking it easy on the scoot in the rain tomorrow - but I'm not the type to be scraping my sides stand (unlike some people here) even in the dry weather.

Well I don't want to end up with chicken strips so I will be leaning into it once I get a few more miles on the new tires.

Looks like it is nice and packable too.  Always good to have the rainwear with you.

I carry that stuff with me everyday.  Even though it didn't rain for about 2 months straight.

Got good use out it last couple of days though.

Haven't heard from him. Thouit my crankcase tuning would have brought him out. 5 inches, that is nearly half our anual rainfall. Hope he is ok.

This afternoon they said some folks in Virginia Beach have about a half a foot of water just standing all around their homes. Probably more by now.

Rain, the dentist, internet troubles, scoot troubles...what a day. Is it bed time yet? lol

That's great, art. It's windy as heck here this morning, but I actually see a tiny bit of sunshine trying to show itself.  :)

Ha! I wouldn't last long in Portland or Seattle for that matter. That rain depresses me too much. I don't like the cold much either. The older I get the less I like it. When my son graduates next year and goes off to college, I'm thinking about moving farther south, maybe near one of them beaches down in Florida.  :D

The only place I ever got to spend any time in around Portland was a big truck stop there called Jubal's or JoJo's, something like that. Ever hear of it? Was waiting to pick up a new load. To my surprise the rain actually held off until hitting the highway heading back.

Nice and sunny here in Whyalla, looks like it will be in the low 20s (C) today. Going to go for a ride over to Port Pirie, see if I can get a new battery for the scoot.

Just be careful about asking Rianna to send rain your way.

She means business.

More rain today and tomorrow.

Rain and cool temps - scoot won't be happy with that.

Yeah, definitely a quick trip into fall.

Had to up my idle speed already - into winter mode in early October!

It was cold and rainy and I wasn't patient enough too let the scoot warm for a few minutes before I headed out.  Every time I came to a stop sign the idle would drop way down.

Don't need to be stalling out.
