While sitting at a red light today the yellow engine code light came on and stayed lit. Scooter is a 2012 500i ABS. Running fine, temp good cant seem to find an issue. Pulled into a gas station, turned the scooter off and fired it back up light is off and has not been back on since. The bike has 4200 miles on the clock and runs great. What is needed to run the codes and where is the port ? Thanks

Kymco analyzer tool and I know what the connector looks like but have no idea where it is. Does that model have EFI?

Having had mine to bits recently, it would seem that the port for the OBD reader is found on the RHS underneath the seat glove box. It’s right by the RHS seat lock. Whether you’ll be able to get at it without taking off the seat and glove box/helmet locker inner is another thing mind you.

Here you go:
Place the scooter on its main stand and put the side stand up prior to using the diagnostic tool.
Remove the two battery cover screws with a #2 Phillips screwdriver. Remove the battery cover.
The diagnostic plug is located to the right of the battery. (I guess this depends on which direction you’re facing!)
Plug in the tool to the ECU connector and turn on the ignition switch to send power to the tool.
It’s as I said previously, on the RHS of the bike by the RH seat lock.
