Title: Scooters everdam place in St Pete Beach
Post by: Stig / Major Tom on June 19, 2019, 11:07:12 AM
Rousted the poor daughter at 0'Dark:30 and off we went to Dunkin D's for dark roast (close approx. to Dino's) and photos at water's edge.
Passed 2 Likes and a (white!, best color ever)Burgman 400 commuting to work, all in 1/2 hour!
So cool to see scooters for a guy from rural Midwest! Watched the 1st gen. white Like come up and pass me in the dark....yeah- not the brightest headlight in the world.

PS: best not to tell a teenager the sun doesn't come up for another 65 mins!

And at that hour!  Have a strong suspicion most scooter riders in Tampa do so out of economic necessity.

Non-motorized scooters are all the rage, though.  Think there are currently 3 companies supplying them
randomly around town.  City is doing a test run.  Younger generation is into them, maybe they're just a novelty,
but hope they are here to stay.

No sunrise for you two this morning.

Agree, Kymcos and Chinese scoots often seem to be ridden here by hotel, hosp. and restaurant workers. Very clean Buddy's and Vespas by wealthier retired folks, puttering around for fun.
Told my daughter if I lived down here, I'd own a scooter and a poncho. Full stop.

We see more scooters here because as you have said they are transportation not toys for many.
Very rare day I don’t see 25 plus scoots.
