Title: Code 33
Post by: CROSSBOLT on May 13, 2019, 11:56:38 AM
Went through valve clearance check yesterday and discovered an interesting anomoly. Valves were OK at 9227 miles but on start-up after check got a very slow idle, CELP symbol and code 33 with analyzer tool. Yours truly had muffed reconnecting spark plug so the cap was just sitting there. Slow idle was about 1300 rpm, handle bar tips and mirrors vibrating noticably and very much out of character. Found the loose cap, reseated, cleared code with tool and all back to normal. Target rpm was 1750 according to the analyzer data and the bike was doing exactly that. Code 33 is faulty injector. Code 37 is faulty ignition coil. Go figure.

Ah me....the ol'   "I serviced it - now it runs funny" adventure. Know it well!
I'm sure I get that much more often than you - as a plane mechanic ever did!

My LIKE's engine temp sensor (supposedly) has been throwing a code for 4 or 5 years... I treat the happy red blinks like a friendly decoration now.

Recent service to my parking brake - the switch from broccoli bands to asparagus has been problematic....
