My 2014 Agility 50 has about 20,000 km. I drive it year round (in CT). Last year, it was getting hard to start, needing to open the throttle to get it to start. So I cleaned out the carb with spray & a new spark plug. This winter, I noticed it just about flooding when warming up in the cold. But once it got warmed up, it started back up fine. Runs good.
I'm guessing the carb (still the original) needs work. I'm wondering if I blew something out of whack with the carb spray...
Also, over the past year (before I cleaned the carb) I noticed that the top speed dropped off a little (from about 40mph); and a bit less power now climbing hills... The idle is a bit high too.
Once mechanic said I have carb issues (duh...); another suggested that with this many miles I should re-do the top end of the motor.
So what are your thoughts on the warm-up 'flooding' issue? Also, I figure since I'll be dropping money, I should just upgrade to get better performance...
Carb suggestions?
Muffler?
Pulleys? Weights? CVT kit?

cleaned out the carb with spray
For clarification . . were the carb jets removed for cleaning?
Checked intake and exhaust valve clearance?
Measured drive belt width to determine wear?

With that mileage on the clock I think a good starting point would be to do an engine compression test, and try to find out what the engine compression is suppose to be.
The results of a "dry", and separate "wet" compression test might point you in the right direction.

No, i don't recall removing the jets. Sprayed carb cleaner, wire through the jets & holes. Didn't check clearances or belt. Having been a daily driver, I'm figuring a belt change is in order soon.
Anyone upgrade to this carb?

Also thinking about the 6 gram Dr. Pulley sliding weights...

I think Tiro on this forum bought that carb recently.

Yea that carb works fine. Was just plug and play.

Popped the carb (and a new starter) in yesterday. Quick test run, all seems okay. We'll see how it is through the week.
