Title: Xciting weird RPM after reset ECU ? CELP
Post by: akowalczuk on April 10, 2019, 07:23:53 AM
Hi!
So I have xciting 250 from 2009. I had problem with my check engine light after changing my exhaust. So I reset the "computer" - CELP. Then I turned on engine and Check engine was gone but..... My RPM are all the time jumping on 3000 - up and down. I was going back from work around mile, and during ride or on higher rpms everything is fine, but when i stopped engine was all the time on 3000rpms.
Before CELP reset everything was fine.

Please help

The O2 sensor could be faulty.
The throttle body also has a sensor, something to do with the butterfly valve.
I would check these two things, and reset CELP again.

I will check.
But before reset everything was fine.
Does someone know how to regulate neutral gear? Baybe that will help

EDIT:
So I turned it on and in the begging was 3000RPM STRAIGHT AND NICE and the wheel was spinning, after 40seconds/1minute
the wheel stopped spinning and RPM started jumping again.
I am very confused with that

It is check engine light blinking now.
5 longer blinks and 4 shorter

Do you guys know what that could be ?

Try opening the gas cap when it shoots to 3000 rpm.

Yes, where you add the gasoline. Your vent valve may be sticking. It will make your engine surge, idle very fast or quit.

Reset ECU by disconnecting battery for 5 to 30 minutes. That will get rid of any codes. Since gas cap trick did not work try initialize. This works on the Downtown maybe it will work on your Xciting.
Switch off. Run-stop: run. Open throttle all the way and hold open. Switch on. Count or time 8 seconds then close throttle. Switch off. Then start the engine normally and see what it does.

I will try to unplug the battery battery first and will let you know. THANK YOU FOR HELP A LOT!!!
But i am sorry i got confused with second method.  So you mean the CELP procedure or that is another one ?
Red engine swith on
Turn throttle for 8 seconds
Turt throttle off
Switch off
And than on and start engine ?

The second procedure is "Initialise." This is done anytime the throttle body, TPS or ISC is replaced or changed. I know they have not bern changed but it may help. As follows:
1. Ignition switch off (Key switch).
2. Red run-stop switch on.
3. Throttle wide open and hold.
4. Ignition switch on.
5. Count 8 seconds from instant ignition switch is on then close throttle completely.
6. Ignition switch off.
7. Start engine normally.

Your video was great! Yours is surging fast idle JUST LIKE THE DOWNTOWN when fuel vent valve was stuck shut. The initialize procedure may or may not work. If it does work, I have no idea for how long.

I suspect, hope I'm wrong, this "fix" is temporary. If it acts up again, pop that gas cap off as quick as possible and you may hear a "swoosh" as the cap unseals. If not, then you may have a restriction in the pump suction (fuel filter) or pressure line from pump (pinched fuel hose to injector). Hopefully, this is the end of your problems.
