Title: While getting my recall & oil change...
Post by: Stig / Major Tom on March 15, 2019, 08:26:15 PM
....this morning on my Scion (the shrapnel laden airbag thing recall).
I saw this baby out on the Toyota lot. A $49,000 Toyota pickup with the special "Desert Snorkel".
I started to chuckle at this option offered here in Ohio - then burst into a full laugh at the $699.00 "TRD-PRO applique".
It is a couple feet of black stick-ons applied to this black truck.
It is on there - do you see it?
$699.

Geez, I hope only Americans see this post.

For only $30,000 - I'd rather have this goofy Toyota (ex-Scion, now called the '86' ? )...with the Subaru boxer engine in it.
Get right down on my bad knee and crawl in there!

That Toyota/Scion/Subaru is a great sports car it just needs the Subaru WRX engine(not enough giddiyup).

I drove a new 1980 Subaru for 2 1/2  years until both outside mirrors rotted off - then the back axle snapped in half on a city street. Subaru learned rust proofing from the folks at Fiat in those days.
Anyway - I bought it because the engine looked like my VW engines - just watercooled.
That boxer engine was rough as a cobb in the med. to high revs - horrible engine and car.

Now, they're all the rage in my coffee village. Things must have improved - and I see that boxer is still in that red sports car.
