Scootered to coffee village 1.5 hrs before sunrise again today.
Just conversed with an elderly bicycle rider. She peddles slowly through town in the center of a state route, with only a dime sized red light blinking slowly on the rear of her seat.
Absolutely dark clothes.
As she passed where I sit on the sidewalk, she commented on my "bright attire!"
"Ma'am, you are pretty hard to see on your bike. Maybe a reflective bike vest would be a good idea? "
She said she's been riding for years like this, without any problems.
Ah me....
Lot of faith in our drivers.....

Not kidding.....she just peddled by again. 10 mins until sunrise. Wearing all fine shades of grey. She had a little red reflector under her seat, totally blocked by a pair of cloth saddle bags. She goes at a quick walking pace dead in lane center.
Ah me....
