Title: Stuck Brake Pad Pin

My hex tool wont do it as the bolt/pin is starting to get damaged. Would you think it would help to heat it up first?

Or do you have better ideas to loosen it?

Now i ordered new ones, but how do I make shure that they wont get stuck again. Would you apply cooper grease for example?

Post by: vespbretta on March 04, 2019, 11:10:46 PM: Yes, apply "copper grease" or maybe even better use "Loctice Never Seize" or something alike.
I personally wouldnÂ´t use just any standard multipurpose grease. Maybe a Marine Grease (saltwater resistant) would be fine also.
And donÂ´t torque the pins back in like crazy. No need for it. Just snug them with common sense to withstand general vibration.

This service job should have been done at the shop after the first 300 or 500 miles when the scooter was new.

First - thanks for giving us a "solved" feedback! ( we don't always get that)

And secondly - darn glad you got it out!

(I called those Italians everydangthing but an Italian until I finally worked those da_n foot peg torx head bolts loose on my new Piaggio !!)
As vespbretta says - some kinda antiseize paste will be good.

Yes that feeling is good, when you finally see a bolt like that turning ;D

I guess i will now move on to other service-reps, as it seems, it has not been done properly on this 5 year / 13.000 km machine. But actually I dont mind, as I like to get to know the scooter better and it seems fairly easy with help from places like this and relatively cheap parts online.

Next step is a new drive belt and sanding the clutch pads and bell - I allready found good help in here for that...
