Title: Any People 250 replacement headlight bulb sources?
Post by: PghJim on February 05, 2019, 04:55:14 AM
I am trying to source a headlight bulb for my 2006 People 250 p/n 34901-KFA6-9000 with 12v 35/35w. I read some posts on this forum from several years ago. Members seem to be using a bulb substituting a 9003 H4 12v 67/60w with some members expressing concerns over increased lamp heat and more draw on the electrical system. I have tried the online Kymco parts suppliers but they show the standard bulb as unavailable. No luck on ebay. Any help would be appreciated as I am "down" to high beam only.
As an aside I am the original owner and the scooter has been trouble-free. I find the ride and handling to be more "motorcycle-like" than small wheeled scooters. I often leave my HD Road King parked and take the 250 for a ride.

I would think that if you took the bulb into most automotive parts stores....they could match it up?
12V 35/35 is the candle-like bulb used in my Kymco LIKE200i. .....maybe the same part?

Monsterscooterparts.com shows stock bulb, $5

Thanks, I'll give that a try. Other members tried PEP Boy's but only could locate the higher wattage bulb. Some have drilled holes in the headlight assembly to allow the excess heat out. I don't want to start drilling holes. Again, thanks for the quick reply.

I have a H4 LED, and compared to the  35/35w that was in before, it is a massive improvement.

Finally can see and be seen.

There's always Amazon.
Ordered the same bulb for my S200 off there (and a spare) got it in couple days.

Chances are that it is using a HS1 type bulb. You can fit a H4 in a HS1 holder, but not vice versa!

Most auto part stores should be able to help you with a 35W H4 :)

Where did you find the H4 LED bulb? I’d like to get the same one. Did you have to do any modifications to make it fit?
