Title: Black plastic elements renewal

I bought my Downtown last year, it was 2011 model so used.
During summer season I used every day, so I don't have to much time for disassembly and repair.
What I found just minor problems which I repaired immediately.
But I like my bike clean therefore the old plastic elements need to refresh every week or two with spray(silicone+etc.)
Oktober -november the wheather was very friendly to us, I don't clean to much and cold mornings are wet a bit.
The plastic elements become greyish.
January cold, snowy and wet, who want to ride, so I start long journey in the garage, I want to replace all the necessary things and parts, because I hope this summer also long.
Disassembled many things, right know the plastic elements. I use heat gun what I see on youtube.
Please check pictures, i think the job well done
First picture shows the differencies between two elements which reconditioned (small central lover cover) and around the greyish old one.

I spray on a product called "Vinyl-all Protectant" and before that I used  "Armor-all".  It lasts a couple weeks then the grey returns. Does anyone out there have a better treatment?

Yeah, heat gun is a common trick - but always wondered about the effects of repeated shots.

I used "Black Again" to keep the plastic parts looking like new. Works really good, but it's became difficult to buy it here so I switched to Würth.
Works fine, but Black Again is better.

Yup, there are quite a number of products on the market which work perfectly.

When I bought my scooter it was nine years old, and most plastic components had a grey / dull color. I just used a product which I normally use on my vehicles dash boards and all the scooter's plastic components are perfectly black - and look brand new again.

Most of these products are UV resistant, and protects plastic. Very easy to apply, and a container like the one at the picture lasts for several years.
Personally I would rather not use a heat gun - I think any product which offers UV protection is a better way to go.
