I have noticed that the speedometer on the Super 8 is 4 - 5 mph too fast. Has anyone noticed this? I tried it a few times, was doing 30mph as per the speedometer while approaching one of those speed monitors that the local police department sets up to keep motorists from going too fast, and the monitor was reading 26mph.
I guess this is better than the speedo reading too slow, which might cause one to get a ticket, ha ha.

They all seem to be a bit optimistic by 4mph average

...yup...it's common...

Nearly every motorcycle or scooter has an "optimistic" speedometer.... just part of the charm of riding a bike.
Many are off about 5-10% across the differing speeds; but some are off by a constant amount...say 5 MPH.

My Kymco super 8 is showing 5-10% more the the actual speed.

Just ride as fast as you can all the time and you won't notice.
